One hectic week working at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in Apia! 11 surgeries and more than 60 new patient consultations. Shaun Mauiliu traveled with me from Tauranga back to his hometown and we worked closely with Dr Areta Samuelu for the week.
A big highlight was doing an outpatient clinic at Tuasivi Hospital in Savaii. Shaun will continue to work with us in the orthopaedic department at Tauranga Hospital for one more year before returning to Apia. We hope that Areta will join us in Tauranga for further orthopaedic training in the future.
