Andrew Vane and Canadian fellow Scott Westberg visited the beautiful Cook Islands for a week in early May. Surgeon Dr Deacon Teapa was away at for a well-deserved week at a conference but Dr Dyxon from Samoa and Registrar Dr Kako were on hand to help with orthopaedic issues and deal with General surgical cases. An orthopaedic clinic was run every day and a number of operations were performed including shoulder stabilisation, ACL reconstruction, femoral osteotomy, trauma surgery. As usual everything was well set up by Deacon and a big thank you to Kirsten who ran our clinics and operating lists. We will continue to provide orthopaedic support the people of the Cook Islands in the future.
