It was a huge delight to be able to rejoin our friends and colleagues in the Pacific Islands Orthopaedic Association at the spine and hip training module hosted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva. Due to the COVID pandemic and travel restrictions, this was the first training module for three years! David Bartle joined Australian colleagues to teach on the spine module in the first week, and Andy Vane and Vaughan Poutawera taught on the hip module in the second week. Congratulations to Areta Samuelu from Samoa and Pita Sovanivalu from Fiji who both passed their fellowship examinations. Many thanks to Des Soares for his organization and the staff of the CWM hospital for hosting the PIOA for the first time.
