Rarotonga July 2022

jamesaoina

Our first Orthopacifix visit in 3 years since the pandemic began was to Rarotonga this year. It was an emotional visit as it was also the first to Rarotonga since the passing of "Papa" Andy Macdiarmid. Andy was a mentor for the Orthopacifix team and a large reason for our commitment to providing services to the Pacific, in particular to the people of the Cook Islands.

We were able to provide Dr Simon Maclean and Dr Steve McHale with their first experience in the islands and a significant amount of both surgical and outpatient work was performed in both Rarotonga and Aitutaki. It was a pleasure to see Deacon Teapa once again and the amazing work he has done to provide surgical care with minimal resources.

We look forward to carrying on Andys legacy in the Cook Islands.

Rest in Love Papa Andy
